Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
For my students, school is their safe place. They come in with hearts, minds, and eyes wide open to whatever the new day brings. These little world changers are my wild ones...the ones who aren't afraid to make mistakes because they know those mistakes help them grow, the ones who love each other deeply because they know we are more than classmates, we are a family; the ones who despite the trauma they have faced at such a young age show up with a smile, and an open mind and heart. As visual learners this diverse group of students thrives when collaboration, hands on activities, movement, and visuals are at the forefront of their daily learning experience.
My Project
These TIME for Kids & Scholastic articles give my world changing students the chance to be informed in an engaging way about the happenings in our world. It is important for students to be aware of what is happening in our world because they are the future of it. If they are aware of the things happening in our world then they can already be inspired to invent, make changes, and love no matter the circumstance. These materials will be an engaging way for my visual learning world changers to engage in the current events in our world.
