This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every classroom around the world is filled with talented and amazing children, but mine are the absolute best! These students come to school from many different backgrounds, but they have one thing in common, they love school. You can see it in their eyes.

The love of learning that they have is infectious!

I am excited to come to school every day to see what new and exciting things they are going to teach me. We are explorers of everything we do and learn!

My Project

Students today use a variety of different media types to access information. I want my students to know what a magazine is like and how to use one.

I also want to make sure that my students have access to current events in Science and Social Studies.

My students, since they are in a Title I setting do not always have access to current events or access to informational text, like Scholastic News. Being able to bring that learning into the classroom will help them not only with current events, but will also help them with identifying text features and other features associated with informational text.
