This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This year I am teaching the Autistic class grades 4 and 5. They are not huge fans of sitting in regular desks while learning. I would love to get a new classroom carpet so we can all gather on the carpet for circle time, reading time, playing time and learning time. I want a nice bright carpet that is soft that they can relax on while still helping them learn. I will choose one with the alphabet on the carpet to go over their letters and sounds!
My Project
My kiddos would love to have a comfortable and bright carpet to play and learn on. The magic we will create on this carpet this year is out of the world. Having the alphabet displayed with help my Autistic kiddos learn how letters can be capital and lowercase. We will be able to do some learning in the carpet while correcting sentences using capital and lowercase letters, some of our IEP goals. Our floors in our classroom are hard tile, so it would be nice to have a plush carpet to have them sit on instead of the cold floor. All your donations are appreciated!!
