My Students

I have a wonderful group of 4th and 5th grade students. We celebrate each and every child.

My students and their learning needs are diverse.

I am constantly looking for ways to engage my students and to best meet each of their needs. Differentiation is key, and I want to provide the best opportunities for each and every child. I seek motivating and engaging activities for my students.

My Project

The Tillamook Forestry Center offers a wonderful hands-on field trip experience for students. My 4th graders have attended in the past, and love seeing the beautiful educational museum and learning about the history of the Tillamook forest in a fun and engaging way.

Using drama, students get to act out the history of the forest with a forestry teacher on staff.

They also get to see old growth trees and experience a fun scavenger hunt.

It is wonderful for students to learn lessons of ecology and best practice in nature. They learn to be stewards of the environment, and they learn how important forestry is to the great state of Oregon.
