"The expert in anything was once a beginner." ~Helen Hayes
As a first grade teacher, I set the foundation for learning. I want learning to be fun and engaging for my students.
There are 26 students in my class.
At our school, we believe that all children can learn and be successful in reaching their highest potential, while preserving their sense of curiosity and wonder. We also believe that children learn best when they are actively involved in developmentally appropriate activities. We like to provide challenging and diverse educational experiences.
My students have the opportunity to use iPads during literacy centers and math stations. The Tiggly Words, Shapes, and Math manipulatives, along with the apps, would give students the concrete, hands-on learning experiences that they need in fun, developmentally appropriate ways.
Tiggly believes that learning IS fun - there is no need to make it fun; children should be encouraged to learn from mistakes and continue to try again; being silly helps expand kids' imagination; children love to create, explore, and engage with others; and children learn best when they are actively interacting with content to create meaning.
Your donation would enable these beliefs in my classroom!
