My Students
Our volleyball players come from challenging environments where aggression is often the answer to many problems. Some of my students have home, community, and other issues. Some of them have trouble interacting appropriately with one another, teachers, and administrators. Sports can make the difference for many of our students. They feel a sense of belonging.
My students come from high crime and poverty-stricken areas.
They don't have access to basic needs.
Many of our players often feel as if no one notices them or acknowledges their positive behavior, only the negative. Our players need multiple opportunities to learn and be successful in many different ways. An adequate education along with extracurricular activities are is the only way some of them will change their lives.
My Project
Our volleyball players work really hard to be a successful team. They need volleyball shorts to practice in and play for their games. Our volleyball team needs sports shorts to wear during games and practice. My students often feel as if no one notices them or acknowledges their positive behavior, only the negative. Our players need multiple opportunities to learn and be successful in many different ways. An adequate education along with extracurricular activities is the only way some of them will change their lives. For some of our kids sports is the only way they can get to college with a scholarship.
