Help me give my students an opportunity to maximize their individual potential. A washer and dryer would help foster a greater chance at personal success.

Our student population of 341 comes from a local housing project, and 100% receive free lunch. Ours is a greatly impoverished community, with high crime and violence. Our school is immediately adjacent to local low income housing where over 87% of the total student population resides.
Our learners are from an extremely violent community where many of our students life have been affected, experiencing first hand the devastation.
Of this population males are significantly at-risk.
More importantly, there remains a greater male population with low benchmarks in the areas of phonics, reading comprehension and Language Arts and Science and Math. Most students are at least one grade level behind counterparts across America and abroad. Our school system has high turnover for both educators and administrators.
The learners are alway eager to learn. Hailing from an impoverished community makes many of the learners feel disconnected and undesired. By allowing them to utilize these tools, we are promoting the building of community partnerships for both the present and future. When exploring with hands-on objects, learners have the opportunity to express themselves in a more nontraditional way. They feel important and buy into the concept intended to be delivered.
Good personal hygiene will keep both your mind and body healthy. Personal hygiene has a huge impact on the overall well-being of a student. Providing funding to assist in the purchase of a standard washer and dryer you will provide and opportunity to ensure clean and suitable uniforms for all students.
The National Health Service states that everyone has bacteria inside and outside the body.
Clothes capture the bacteria, making them risky to wear again without washing. Dirty underwear has more traces of germs from body fluids and traces of defecation, which makes infection more likely if worn again without washing. The only way to prevent the spread of germs found on clothes from normal wear is to wash them.
It is very important to wear clean clothes no matter what you do m no matter where you live and no matter who you are with. Keeping your body clean is an important part of keeping you healthy and helping you to feel good about yourself.
This project will help build self-esteem. A student's self-esteem is very important in the development of their mind and body. Caring about the way you look is important to your self esteem (what you think about yourself). When a student has a low self-esteem, their life can be affected in just the everyday things that they do. They are often thinking carefully about how they may react to their friends in school or how they might interact doing their school work. A higher self-esteem can really help with tackling any problems and can mean that they are more willing to try harder academically if they think that they are capable of it.
