Help me give my students cleaning supplies to maintain and thrive in a healthy, classroom environment this flu season!

I am an urban educator of twenty years who is passionate about my students and cultivating their learning. I invite you to share in my journey of educating our inner-city students. By working with my fabulous class, you are inspiring and investing in our future leaders of our schools, churches, neighborhoods, and country.
My mission as an urban educator is to create a positive learning experience for my students in a safe environment with high expectations for success.
Our school is located near where the Sherman Park riots took place in August 2016. Unfortunately, the streets of the inner city teach our students hard lessons that are out of my control. My students come to school battling anxiety, trauma, defiant behavior, attention issues, hunger, learning deficits, and depression. What is in my control, I can equip myself and my classroom with tools to support, educate, excite, and engage my students on an hourly basis.
Our K-8th grade school serves 98% of economically disadvantaged students; 30% of our school are students with a disability. We have an alarming number of students that have not yet been identified as having special needs, but suffer from mental health issues. Let's make a change!
Teaching in the elementary grades can often be a "sticky" situation! Germs tend to spread like wildfire! In addition, there are often crafty spills...runny noses... dirty desks.
In order to provide a healthy environment where students can thrive, I would like to empower my students to develop a lifelong habit of cleaning.
When your environment is clean you feel happy, motivated, and healthy. Students thrive in a clean, organized, and focused space. Teaching students to be responsible for maintaining a clean work space, blowing their noses (YES...I actually have to teach how to properly blow it ALL out and dispose of it!) and caring about the classroom community will ultimately instill a healthy, lifelong habit.
I expect to see an increase of daily student attendance, as well as good cleaning habits. The cleaning supplies requested will conquer those germs that like to make us teachers and students sick. Disinfectant wipes and a vacuum sweeper will help to clean up creative projects. Hand sanitizer, tissues and paper toweling will aid us in our attempts to battle germs and keep our space clean.
