I am a second-grade teacher in an elementary school that has close to 88% of our families on free and reduced breakfast/lunch. Our school is also very unique and diverse in that we have 17 different languages that are spoken. My classroom is made up of 24 second graders that come from different economic backgrounds and challenges.
My students deserve the best and as a teacher, I want to make sure that they know that every day.
They are very energetic and love to have fun. I would love to start off this school year by teaching them how to be responsible and organized.
With each child being able to keep their own storage sack at their own seats, they will be able to store their belongings next to them so they are ready to learn at any given time with what they need. I recently did away with traditional student desks, so we have tables now which has made a huge difference in getting rid of excess clutter and searching for missing items in desks.
These storage sacks will make a difference in my students' learning because it will help them learn organization skills as well as avoid distractions during the school day.
