Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My sixth grade science class is comprised of approximately 130 amazing students; many of whom come from very diverse cultures and backgrounds. Due to their socioeconomic situations, a majority of these students receive free or reduced price lunch.
Our middle school strives to provide excellent education for grades 6-8 and provides a rigorous academic course load that is made possible by the fantastic teachers and staff who work in tandem to create a safe and accessible learning environment for all of our students.
My Project
Please help me create an amazing classroom that supports mental health as well as nurtures the whole child. With so many outside stress factors facing our students' today, I want to provide a classroom that inspires my students as well as provides comfort inside of the school on a daily basis. By incorporating additional colorful file folders and card stock paper, glue, 3-hole punch, and a file organizer, I can achieve this. My students also need a laminating machine with laminating sheets to help protect all their projects.
Having a classroom that my students feel safe and organized in is my goal.
I know basic math and language arts skills are a priority in schools but by having an organized classroom to set the tone of comfort and relaxation I can offer an amazing place for my students to learn and grow.
