Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher of students in grades 6 to 8. All of my students are diverse learners. They have special needs ranging from mild learning disabilities to social/emotional difficulties. I teach math and science. My kids are from a working class, low-income area. We are a very family-oriented school and have great family involvement.
We can grow in our learning if we just have our needs met.
Any items for use at home received by my class offers the students a chance to be ready to learn and a more enriching education.
My Project
For this project, I am asking for Tide laundry detergent to provide for my students for home use. Many students have access to a washing machine in their apartment or house which is very useful.
However, they lack the extra detergent to wash their uniforms daily.
This means sweatshirts and jackets worn continuously all day long at school are full of sweat and stink by the end of the school week. This can be a distracting situation in the classroom not only for the student wearing the sweatshirt but others trying to work in the classroom around him or her. Please consider helping my students.
