it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I want my students to be successful in Music and in Life!
I teach general music in a high poverty K-6 inner city public school in Indiana.
Our school has 600 students who love the arts! They are curious, enthusiastic, hard-working, and respectful. They come to music willing to sing a new song, learn a folk dance, play a rhythm instrument, choreograph movement to a song, write a rap, work on a composer project, or explore Garage Band on our iPads!
My students know that I have an open-door policy in my room! If I don't have a class, they are always welcome to come hang out! Usually this means that they are rehearsing choreography, practicing a song, playing the bells, dancing to the xBox, recopying their Donors Choose thank you letter, or just letting me know how their day is going!
I work hard for them, and they work hard for me!
My Project
We need TICKETS for many things in life: tickets for a concert, tickets for a sports event, tickets for an airplane flight, and tickets for an amusement park ride! In my classroom, I want to give my students "tickets" to becoming a responsible, wise, productive, and caring human beings!
We are going to be earning tickets in Music! All my students have to do is follow The Bulldog Way: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful! My kids will also have opportunities to earn extra tickets during Music by answering difficult questions, volunteering to demonstrate how a phrase should be sung or played on an instrument, or maybe by teaching a fellow classmate a challenging step in a folk dance! I want them to experience as many successes as possible and then celebrate them with each other!
I am requesting Smilemakers Treasure Chest prizes to use as incentives! Each Treasure Chest has a variety of small games, puzzles, and toys from which students may choose when they redeem their tickets!
My students deserve every opportunity to explore and create in music.
They can learn the elements of music and become budding composers and performers! To go on these new adventures, my students need some incentives to reward all of their hard work.
