Throw a Party
My students need 8 sets of pottery tools, bisque mugs and snap mugs to create a Pottery Party.
My students love to use their little "chicken fingers". They need pre-made ceramic mugs that can be decorated by him/her and his/her parent. We plan on using a parent night to make and decorate ceramic pieces.
My students are in kindergarten through second grade.
My rural students do not receive a lot of funding for the art materials required to be successful in art class. Our school is a Title 1 school of distinction. We have reached our goals and want to maintain our status as a elite school.
By making a project with a family member, the student will gain valuable life lessons and a good sense of self confidence. By using a variety of art materials, it will give the student a great state at his/her school career. A good foundation will allow future teachers to be more successful in gaining the student's attention.
It is so very important that my students get these materials because they will possibly not do a project like this again in their lifetime.
Art is not offered at all levels of our school district, and my students will have to be exposed to art quicker than most students in other districts.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
