Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach kindergarten in Worcester MA. I currently have 20 students. More than half of my students come from low income homes as well as single parent homes. I also have many English language learners in my classroom too.
My students come to school everyday ready to learn even though they face many challenges at home.
They are learning to socialize and work together in positive ways. They are also learning to be role models and great members of their community.
My Project
I am asking for donations for a projector and document camera to use in my classroom. Technology is a huge part of everyday life and children can benefit from the positive aspects of using it. Currently my classroom is lacking many aspects of technology. My students do have access to computers. However, they are older and do not always work.
If this project is funded, I would be able to do so much more with my students.
A projector and document camera would allow me to show something to the entire class where they could all see it from either the rug or their desks. Currently, I use a dry erase board and the piece of paper we may be working on to show my students; but this is not always easy for them to see when I am teaching a whole group lesson. The projector and camera would allow them to not only see it, but also keep them engaged.
