Mrs. Wade from Statesboro GA is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 5 copies of the Townsend Press book, "Bullying in Schools," a Toshiba Thrive, a bullying catch ball, and bullying borders to increase bullying awareness.

What do you do when fights break out over derogatory posts made outside of school on FaceBook? What do you do when students have anxiety about riding the school bus or going to school because they are afraid that someone will say something unkind to them? I CAN educate my students about bullying.
I teach in a public elementary school that is filled with enthusiastic teachers and learners!
Currently, I teach 49 fantastic fourth graders. All of the students are very eager to learn. They are always thoroughly engaged when I incorporate technology, drawing, and coloring into the learning process.
I am requesting a Toshiba Thrive and copies of "Bullying in Schools" to use in small groups to focus on bullying. Android apps are available for the Thrive that address bullying. In small groups, students will read and discuss the book with me while other groups use the Thrive and make posters. Students can access the Internet to find online resources to combat bullying. The bully zone bulletin board border will be used to display posters. The bullying clever catch ball will be used often to review topics on electronic bullying and cell phone bullying through harassment. Students need to understand what bullying is, what it looks like, and how to stop it. My hope is that after the small groups work in my room, the knowledge they learn will be passed on throughout and outside the school. My project is important because it will help curb the growing trend of bullying in schools. I want to do something to be proactive. I want to save my students from becoming statistics.
I am working to create a safe and nurturing learning environment that is free of bullies.
This project will allow my students to gain a better understanding of bullying and the effects of bullying by practicing positive behavior in and out of the classroom. I need help accomplishing this goal!
