My Students

I teach energetic and imaginative kindergarten students in a high-poverty, Title I elementary school. These children come to school everyday excited and eager to learn and explore. They are hard-working, kind, and respectful.

Nothing is better than seeing the look each student gets when he or she has an "ah-ha" moment while learning.

They start the year as a blank canvas and grow into readers, writers, and independent thinkers. These students show every day why teaching is the greatest job in the world.

My Project

Ipads are a great tool to enhance engagement and appeal to all types of learners. My energetic and imaginative students love to learn. Ipads are easier to navigate and less frustrating to manage than controlling a mouse.

Having tablets to customized learning based on individual needs, rather than traditional worksheets that cannot be differentiated, will help students learn.

Technology allows teachers the ability to challenge each student at his or her level without that child feeling overwhelmed or upset. Tablets also provide visual and auditory features that can come in handy, especially with teaching kindergarten students number sense, letter recognition, and sounds.
