I am excited and busy preparing for a new group of fifth graders to enter my classroom. My students are always eager to learn, explore, and reach their highest potential. They do not let challenges and hard work stand in the way of their goals. The majority of these students come from low socio-economic backgrounds and qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
My goal is to help these culturally diverse students who speak many different languages learn, create, and collaborate.
When it comes to technology, they have no fears. These 21st century learners need to be ready to take on the world.
The possibilities are endless when technology is used daily in the classroom. In math, my students will be able to complete differentiated lessons at their own pace. This is very important in closing any learning gaps that exist while other students work at grade level and beyond. In science, students will research topics, code, and begin simple robotics projects.
Students must be prepared for high stakes testing that is now taken online in 5th grade.
I need to ensure that all students are comfortable with basic typing and computer skills. Working on a one to one computer ratio is the best chance I have to help my students succeed today and in the future. Please help these curious, energetic, hard working students by supporting my project.
