The students of our school come from a range of socioeconomic neighborhoods. Together, the teachers, staff, and students create a community of learning and enrichment, preparing all students for their future. Students strive to do academics. With your help, we can help their dreams soar.
Our school is need of library materials that will help them maintain their love of reading and discovery of new information.
School libraries are where students develop their love for learning. The students yearn for the opportunity to explore new texts and learn new skills.
Storyworks magazine is a great resource to have and use in the classroom. The magazine offers fiction and non-fiction texts that teach proper reading skills and pique students' interests.
Library classes will use Storyworks magazine to introduce research topics and provide enriching reading experiences.
We will conduct reader's theater productions, build prior knowledge before researching, and practice grammar skills with the monthly examples provided in the magazine. Students will also get exposed to all literary genres, including poetry, book excerpts, and informational text features that will help them prepare for the state tests at the end of the school year.
