I am going into my 2nd year of teaching this year and I think I am more excited this year than I was my first year. Last year was amazing! I had a classroom full of bright, curious, diverse learners. I loved each of them just as I love my own kids. Now that it is summer break, I have caught myself on many occasions longing for more time with them. I will often contact parents to check in on them, and I’ve even had opportunities to see some of them too.
Next year will be no different than the last.
I have huge plans for my class. I have spent my breaks reading and researching how to be the best teacher I can possibly be for them. Through my research, I have learned new strategies and techniques to use to promote success prompted by myself, but achieved by the student. I look forward to utilizing everything I have learned, learning more, and loving kiddos for as long as possible.
My Project
Any professional development I have attended has always helped myself and my students in more ways than I can possibly list. I love hearing ideas, thoughts, and research from different aspects. I also enjoy taking time to see things about the classroom and teaching profession from different points of view.
I am addicted to bettering myself- for students, my children, myself, and the future of all of the above!
There is no doubt in my mind that GYTO Conference would tremendously help me professionally. I have done independent research on many of the topics that will be discussed, so it will almost be an awestruck moment to see and hear these things in person.
