I teach junior and senior English in an urban area just north of Boston. Many of my students speak English as a second language, have special needs, and/or qualify as free or reduced-lunch. They face a variety of struggles every day, but I firmly believe that they should be provided with the same quality education as their peers from more affluent surrounding communities.
Many of my students are forced to hold down part-time or full-time jobs in addition to attending school full-time so that they may contribute to their family income. Because of that, they often lack the time needed to adequately review and prepare for our literature-based or vocabulary-based exams. Therefore, it is imperative that I offer comprehensive review sessions during class time so that all my students have the opportunity to spend time looking over the material and ask me questions about things they don't understand.
Review games prove to be one of the most effective methods of test preparation in my classroom. I often play review games for vocabulary, and I try to create as many Jeopardy-style review games as possible, but creating and drawing out such games can be extremely time-consuming. Having a Jeopardy Game Review Set would help me more efficiently offer Jeopardy reviews of all the material we cover in class. The Jeopardy Game Review Set includes a Jeopardy Game board as well as remotes, so that the student groups may "buzz" in when they know the correct answer. Having this available in my classroom would prove an invaluable review tool.
The Jeopardy Game Review Set would get my students both interested in and excited about reviewing content. You will help ALL of my students - including those who spend most of their after-school hours working to support their families - prepare for tests and practice vocabulary.
