Ms. Prince from Houston TX is requesting Reading Nooks, Desks & Storage through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

This Way to Pre-K

My students need seat sacks, writing center organizer, pocket charts to manage centers, and a pocket chart stand to help enhance our classroom. Also the teacher carry-all caddy will help to keep me organized when presenting.

My Students

My students are very bright. They are getting into the hang of school and are always eager to grow their brains. They are constantly looking to explore the world around them.

Every day we work to learn at least three new things that they can share at home with their families.

I want for them to always feel as though there was a reason for them to come to school and participate. We are a Title I school, so I am trying my best to have the students experience all that they can with what I can offer.

My Project

I want to be able to start my students off strong with the materials to make the most of the year in pre-kindergarten. The area that I am working in was severely impacted by Hurricane Harvey so I would like to be able to give them a sense of normalcy in our classroom.

I want school to be full of everything my students need to succeed.

I want to be able to give them a strong base and hit the ground running with their learning. For a lot of my students, school will be the most consistent thing in their lives. The storage sacks will help to organize their materials and create more space for them to explore. The pocket charts and pocket chart stand will help to organize our workstation time and help the students to know how to stay on track. The Tabletop Writing Center and Magnetic Calendar Activity Center will be used during our workstation time for more hands-on learning. Lastly, the teacher carry all will be used to organize our whole group time and make sure that all materials needed are ready to go so that whole group will flow much better. The other carry all will be used to keep things organized for when we are out of the classroom and in different places around our school. It will also be used to store other things These materials will help to enhance our whole group, small group, and workstation time. They will be able to use all of these materials to make more real world, hands-on connections. These materials will help to make sure that they are more than ready to jump into kindergarten performing above and beyond where they need.
