My students are excited 5 and 6-year-old Kindergartners ready to learn and soak up information. They enjoy learning through technology and fun hands-on activities.
My classroom is made up of students from rural northern Michigan.
We are a high poverty area, most of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Most of the students are not given the opportunity to visit children's museums or other learning experiences out of town, so I try to bring the outside culture in with fun learning experiences.
My Project
I recently received funding to go to the national Get Your Teach On conference in Dallas, Texas. I will need a flight to get to Dallas, as well, as food while I am traveling. I am really excited to go to the conference and learn from the nations best educators ways to engage my students in the classroom. I want to be the "wild card" in my school. I want to be able to inspire life long learning in my kindergarten students. I want my students to be excited to come to school every day. I know I will get this motivation from the instructors at this conference.
