We know that education is rapidly changing. So is the ability to engage students in learning that is meaningful and applicable to today's society. In order for my students to become twenty-first-century learners, they must have access to computers that allow them to explore their passions.
My students are the most hard-working, curious, and diverse group of middle school kiddos around.
They are constantly questioning the world around them and pushing each other and themselves to be the best or better than they were yesterday. I want to provide them with a classroom that reflects each of their unique personalities and allows them the choice in their learning.
This computer will allow my students to upload, edit and publish all of their amazing weekly news broadcasts to the school. We are currently working on an extremely old computer that takes longer to upload videos than it does to film them all!
My students are the future of journalism!
They are learning about TV journalism, reporting and the editing process in my news broadcasting class. The class consists of students from diverse backgrounds and cultures and multiple grade levels. They have put in a ton of work to create a professional news show that both informs and educates our school and community.
