I will be a first-year teacher teaching second grade humanities this upcoming year! I am so excited to build relationships with my students and learn alongside them on this journey. The learning environment is a students taking charge, LATI classroom, flexible grouping structure. This is to ensure that EVERY students needs are being met. I am so excited to meet my kiddos and provide them with the best classroom environment that I could going into my first year!
My Project
Since I am a first year teacher, I need a lot of the basic school supplies that every classroom needs. Scissors, glue, paper for newsletters, expo markers, and organizing baskets are amongst a few needs to ensure the supplies are stocked for the students learning and communicating home.
As a first year teacher, I also would love to provide my students with flexible seating and learning options.
I added portable lap desks for flexible seating to my project so that my students could move freely around the classroom and work in the place they work best. I also included clipboards for this reason. As far as flexible learning and total participation, I added white boards to engage the students in their work while also allowing me to address the needs of students who may not be understanding the content right away.
