Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have been building our reading stamina all year and students want the opportunity to engage in exciting learning opportunities. They have been giving their all during guided reading time, independent practice and with their fourth grade reading buddies!
Our class has a range of unique personalities and developing reading interests!
Students continue to reread the same book in order to become reading experts! They are on a wonderful journey of learning how to be a part the world around them.
My Project
We have different levels of reading in our classroom and each student has a high interest in getting a good book in their hands!
Students are looking for engaging books that are just right for them, not too hard and definitely not too easy!
Help us build our classroom library so that students can have books at their level. Students that are striving to build their fluency, use of high frequency words and decoding skills will enjoy the fiction texts like "The Dinosaur Next Door" and nonfiction texts like "Long Ago and Today". Students that are ready for a challenge will love books like "The Missing Tooth" and "Slinky, Scaly Snakes" as the fine tune their literacy and writing skills.
