This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am working hard to build a love of writing in my third grade classroom. Recently, I had my students type up their final drafts, create and print a cover page, and bind their stories into real books! The excitement in the classroom was overwhelming. Students yelled out, "THIS WAS GREAT! Why don't we always do this?"

Printing and publishing student writing is so rewarding...and so expensive.

Children love to see what they have created in printed form. They love to share it. There is such a sense of pride. However, this requires paper, clear presentation sheets, binding materials, and colored printer ink. The cost makes this difficult to do more than one time in a year.
