I am a third grade teacher at an elementary school on the south side of Chicago. I just moved from second grade to third grade with most of my students. So far, it has been a wonderful experience for all! My third graders are extremely excited about being authors this year. Only one week into school, and they are already in the early stages of writing their first fiction story. We have plans this year to write tons of stories, of all types of genres. Unfortunately, we only have the supplies to write and illustrate the stories, but no equipment to bind the stories into "real books" (as my students call bound books). The idea of taking their work to the final step of publishing, makes them ecstatic! I am requesting a Plastic Comb Book Binder for the writing center in my classroom. Allowing the students to bind their stories into "real books" would bring them an amazing sense of accomplishment. They would also be able to share these stories with other students across grade levels and with family and friends. Thank you for your contribution to the future authors of tomorrow!
