Help me give my students a winter gift and to resupply some materials that we've already gone through this year. Help me show them that hard work gets rewarded.
My classroom is made up of a diverse group of third-graders who love to learn about the world around them. Our school is close to the Silicon Valley, so these eight-year-olds are tech-savvy because of the technology they have grown up with at home. That has all come in handy now that we are learning from home with distance learning. I'd still like my students to experience reading a tangible chapter book along with their classmates, even if it is over a Zoom classroom meeting.
My Project
This project serves two purposes: I want to restock some of the supplies my third graders have already used and also provide them with something special for the holidays.
I believe it will help lift their spirits and remind them that their teacher is here for them, even when not in person.
I've purchased a book for each student on my own, and would love to also provide them with a bookmark to help them keep track for their daily reading requirements. In addition, the goodie bags will be filled with a friendship bracelet to build a stronger bond and strengthen our class community, and sanitizer bracelets and gloves to help keep them healthy and ready to learn.
The supplies that are being restocked will be used for all subjects (pencils), including math (whiteboard markers for their personal whiteboards), and our weekly craft project (watercolor paints). Thank you for helping supports my students emotional health and current needs.
