My students are the best! I teach a fantastic group of second graders who are the sweetest kids and are eager to learn.
100% of students on my campus receive free breakfast and lunch.
Our school is a Title I school located in a very low socioeconomic area. Most of our students live in poverty, with other family members, or with only one parent. Even though these students live under such circumstances, they still manage to have a positive attitude and are very optimistic about school and learning.
My Project
My students need a MacBook Pro for lessons that will not freeze on them during a video or entertaining activity involving technology. My students would be able to connect this Apple laptop to our projector and will be able to watch educational videos or access our digital books in order to make lessons more engaging. My students could also use interactive SMART board lessons and interactive websites without the computer freezing mid-activity. It would be an exciting change to be able to add fun and engaging content to my lessons. The addition of this technology will increase student engagement, learning and interest in the lessons. I have already envisioned this change and feel that my students would greatly benefit from the aid.
Students will be able to view videos that support the taught content during the core lesson.
After the students break up into smaller groups for center activities, they will be able to use the laptop alongside the SMART board with interactive reading games. I am excited to show my students a more engaging and interactive approach to reading!
