My students need Junior Scholastics to encourage discussion and thinking in the classroom about important topics, larger laminating pouches to protect their work in class, and surge protector power strips to keep devices charged.
I have the privilege of teaching both 6th and 7th grade History to a very lively and intelligent group of students. My 125 students love to engage in discussion about both past and current historical events, as well as how they can be a part of history in their daily lives. They love to be challenged on a daily basis as well as the opportunity to be creative.
"The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future"- Theodore Roosevelt
My students love to get out of their seats and move! They love hands-on learning and trying out new research based strategies and activities in the classroom. In order to accommodate large class sizes and a large spectrum of abilities, I need more opportunities to meet the needs of ALL students in my classroom as well to adding a "twist" to my instruction. Using Canvas, gallery walks, and other online simulations allows the students to use resources other than me to help them be successful! I have a wide range of students in terms of socioeconomic status, so being able to provide my students with these materials will help make learning more engaging!
Having a charged device is crucial to our Bring Your Own Device classroom. Using surge protectors will help charge devices that need charged after a long day at school. The laminating pouches will be used to help students protect their flashcards and important work.
Junior Scholastic magazines will continue to enhance the interactive classroom that I strive to create.
My students love to share their opinions, learn about current events, and engage in meaningful discussion about how to better help their world. Being the inquisitive students that they are, I will be able to promote higher-order thinking and allowing students to form an opinion.
