I teach at a Title I school where most of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are faced with many challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges, I have an amazing class of 24 kindergarten students, who are eager to learn and explore.
My students are creative, curious, motivated, full of energy, and deserve to have access to all the materials necessary to be successful.
My goal is to ensure that my students have all the tools that they need in order to be successful in school.
My students will benefit from a Silhouette machine and heat press because it will allow me to create T-shirts, educational posters, bulletin boards, STEM projects, and labels for supplies and procedures. Most important we want to share kindness by creating bulletin boards and beautifying our school with messages of kindness. We want to create t-shirts to give away to others around the school who display acts of kindness. The possibilities are endless.
The Silhouette Cameo will enable my students to bring their art to life and share kindness around the school.
I will be able to take my students ideas and create it right before their eyes. My students will not only create for themselves, but will spread the word of kindness as they share projects with others. For our first project we will create a kindness matters field trip t-shirt. They will collaborate to work on a design for their t-shirts. I will use the Silhouette cutting machine to cut their design onto heat transfer vinyl and press the shirts with the heat press. We will also make t-shirts to randomly give out to other kids who display kindness around the school. My students will be excited to see their creations come to life. They will enjoy wearing their t-shirts, but will also learn that kindness matters. A little kindness goes along way.
Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to think, problem -solve, create, and spread a little kindness.
