Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The Business Prep program is designed for special education students who have expressed interest in improving computer and clerical skills for a potential career in a business related field. The program is implemented in a simulated work environment with concentration in computer literacy in programs like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as improving keyboarding skills. Email etiquette, resume building, public speaking/interview skills, digital ethics and awareness skills are also developed throughout the year.
The program has an emphasis toward preparing students to be successful and independent in the work place.
All of my students are dual school students, meaning they attend a "home" school and then travel to our school to take the Business Prep program. My students are hard working and have a desire to be successful after high school and want to be successful in the workplace as well.
My Project
The computers in my classroom are not as reliable as they once were, but by receiving these flash drives and lanyards, my students will be able to save their assignments and projects independently and off the computer hard drive and network. This will save my students time and make sure they always have a copy of their work.
These flash drives will teach my students responsibility to take care of something and allow the students to develop the knowledge of using the drive, saving documents and opening documents.
My students will be able to learn to use technology in a way that is effective and relevant.
