My students are from a low income, rural community and I want to bring engaging, hands-on learning exploration to the classroom. They come to school with many challenges, but they are enthusiastic, fun-loving learners ready to participate and engage. Students can be creative, inventive, and imaginative with design engineering.
I want to incorporate some fun engineering projects where students can tinker, design or create anything their imagination can dream.
My students thrive off discovery and inquiry. Our class is filled with many different personalities who are excited to learn. Each and every day we focus on reflection and improving ourselves as learners.
My Project
Learning about solids, liquids, and gases is part of our curriculum and what better way to engage in learning than to use the Bubble kit which makes hands-on and design thinking fun for students. Students get to create their own bubble wands with the numerous different materials in the kits. This would be so much fun for my young learners. They love bubbles and what a great way to integrate engineering into our unit of study!
Through the design process, students will use this kit to explore bubbles and different materials to make bubble wands.
Students will be creating bubble art all while learning properties of matter and using the design process.
After students learn all about the states of matter and create their ideal bubble wand, they will have the opportunity to showcase them to their family and friends.
These kits will enhance our learning and they would be great for our after school STEM classes and our summer STEM camp. Having fun with bubbles would be a great way to celebrate a job well done during our school year.
