I teach 6th grade English Language Arts to general education and inclusion students. My students live in an area of high poverty and do not always have access to the educational "extras" that they need.
I am asking for classroom mailboxes so that my students can organize their new annotation-style textbooks as well as their folders and incoming/outgoing work!
These mailboxes will allow my students a sense of ownership over their portion of the classroom and will make handing papers back ten times easier. Students will be able to make sure they know exactly where their materials are as well which will save instructional time.
My Project
This project will allow my students to practice their organizational skills while providing them with a safe spot for all of their supplies for English Language Arts class.
Since we are swapping to flexible seating, these mailboxes will be somewhat of a "home base" for my students to keep all of their supplies, textbooks, folders, and mail in.
My students are coming to 6th grade and learning quickly that if they don't stay organized they fall behind. I would like to use these mailboxes to teach those organizational skills they will need in the future.
Thank you in advance for helping us to ensure my students have the items they need to make life in the classroom much easier and definitely more clutter-free!
