“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts. ” – Albert Einstein
The Wright brothers defied the odds and broke away from “fact” when they took to the sky in the early 1900s.
They had a dream of flight and made it happen. I teach my students to dream every day. In my classroom, students overcome their circumstance and learn to dream the impossible. Big dreams bring magical things.
Our school is in a suburban town in Greenville County. My school gets an above average rating and according to test scores, 45% of my students are at least proficient in math and 48% in reading. My school has about 1,000 students in grade 6-8 and they come from all different backgrounds. About a third of my students get free or reduced cost lunch. My students make me proud to come to school each day and teach them not only academics but life skills as well.
My Project
This year I have round tables in my room to create a more collaborative environment. When my students are working on a project, it would be so nice to help my students by placing their materials on the cart or delivering the materials on the rolling cart to each team. I would also love to be able to move about the classroom with my computer still with me in order to assist students and show them how to do something with the technology without them having to leave their seats to come see my computer. In addition, I am also requesting a small whiteboard to write important information for the day on in order to keep my students organized.
Please help my students stay organized by donating to my project; every little bit helps!
