I am a fourth year Kindergarten teacher at Ballentine Elementary School in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. I am always looking for fun and exciting ways to help the children in my classroom and they have definitely found that in Letterland! One of the most important goals of the Kindergarten curriculum is to provide students with the skills to learn to read. This is very challenging for all students at such a young age. Out of my 17 children, four of them are learning English as a second language. They are all doing a wonderful job and I would like to continue to provide fun and exciting experiences for them. This year we adopted a new phonics/literacy program called Letterland. Letterland is a literacy program that is extremely child friendly. It features actions, stories and multi-sensory activities, which amazingly keeps all their young minds engaged. I would like to include Letterland books, puzzles and posters in a Letterland center during our literacy center time. Thank you in advance for helping my class this year and for future years to come.
