Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to learn and experiment with a variety of new, interesting topics and ideas. They are imaginative, collaborative, and have unique outlooks on life. These students are not afraid to try new things. They always love to undertake stimulating challenges!

They are eager, brimming with creativity, and have a considerable desire to be hands on.

Many of my students love to cook as one of their favorite past-times, often bringing in treats. Yum! Their love for cooking and baking has lead them to have an understanding as well as an interest in the science behind cooking.

My Project

I am a librarian at an exuberant 4 - 8 school full of passionate and avid readers. In an effort to support my students, I want to provide these devoted and inquiring readers brand new do-it-yourself books so that they can explore and relate to a plethora of inquisitive subjects they find meaningful.

My goal is to provide fresh, relatable, and interesting texts to my students.

I am constantly taking surveys and asking my students what kind of books they would like to see in their school library. In doing so, I am able to select the most popular, coveted subjects for my students to check out and have available. We would very much appreciate a more diverse library collection as to support my students’ assorted taste.

Their thirst for new material will help them develop a range of STEM skills and allow their expanding minds to flourish. By including these new titles into our library collection, my students will be encouraged to have an everlasting love for reading and STEM.
