This is my 12th year being a teacher. My students come from low-income families, some students are coming from broken homes and children who are in foster care. Since these children may come from low-income families they may not get the privilege of experiencing certain activities that are necessary for their academic growth.
Even though most of these children are from low-income families and broken homes, they are such a loving group of kids who genuinely care about each other.
They work together as a team and are a wonderful group friends who are ready to learn!
My Project
My students are very interested in learning about Pizza. It all started one day while they were playing with play dough during Center Time. They made shapes out of play dough and started making pizzas for their teachers and friends. They began to wonder where pizzas were made, what ingredients you use to make pizza, and what restaurants serve pizza.

The materials that we are requesting will help the children make healthy food choices, fine motor skills, strengthen social/emotional skills, learn about kitchen safety, increase math and literacy skills, and also increase language skills.
