Many children come to school and already know how to use a touch screen device. It can be difficult to teach children to use a mouse and navigate through a computer screen, especially when these children are 3-5 years old. That is why our classroom needs a Kindle Fire.
Energetic, full of energy, ready to learn, and ready to absorb all the information I can give them.
That is who my children are. They are all at-risk or have special needs, but they are all capable of learning so much! These children need access to the latest and greatest technology and materials to help them succeed. A Kindle Fire is the perfect addition to our classroom.
My Project
Having a Kindle Fire for child use would allow children to access apps, games, books, and other educational content. They are easy to navigate and teach a preschool child to use because of the touch screen. We currently have two desktop computers that are harder for children to navigate and use without adult supervision. I could download many educational apps in language arts, math, science, and other content areas that are free! I will place appropriate books for the children as well as videos and games that are educational and foster learning. The protective case is a must for any tablet, especially one where the primary use is with preschool children.
Technology is so important in the classroom, especially with this young age.
The Kindle Fire is an easy-to-navigate tool that can increase learning in my classroom. The children will be able to independently use the tablet during their free choice time and increase technology skills that will prepare them for the future!
