I have an extra special relationship with my students this year as I am rolling up from second grade into third with them. My class has some strong personalities, but they are bright students who are eager to learn. They are smart, charismatic and just amazing. I know their weaknesses and their strengths, so I know where my focus needs to be to help these kids succeed. I am so excited to be starting another year with this amazing group.
My Project
Moving to third grade from second with my class this year has been an amazing but eye-opening experience. We write so much more! This is probably a good thing because our FSA testing is in the Spring. We write everywhere, with anything, and all the time! That being said, our supplies are lacking. Are pencils are sharpened with an old school hand crank sharpener—which is great but not efficient; our crayons are dull and great for coloring but not so great for correcting; and our dry erase boards are so worn, they barely erase! Our supplies are in major need of an update! An electric pencil sharpener and a crayon sharpener would save so much time and increase our efficiency. Having dry erase boards and erasers will allow us to save paper when we practice our math skills and the clipboards will give us the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom. It's hot in Florida right now, but come October the weather would be perfect. Seeing as there is no time in our busy schedule for recess, one day working outside would mean my early finishers could play for a few minutes (A great behavior incentive!). Please help our class become efficient and fun this year in both our STEM and ELA endeavors!
