My students need a classroom transformation to learn about space and our solar system, including a space-themed tent, decorations, costumes, and books!
I work with a group of 13 imaginative and active minds in my classroom! With each student, I am finding that they have unique abilities and strengths that make them who they are. In our room, we have 13 students with and without special needs so our lessons and activities are differentiated to meet each students' needs. It is a joy to watch them love on and learn from one another.
They are an accepting and inclusive group of little ones and I learn so much from them each day!
Each one of my students are creative, courageous, and world changers. We love to try new, bold, and exciting things in our room and I want to provide my students with experiences and memories that will last them a lifetime! Thank you for taking the time to check out our projects!
My Project
In our room, we live for adventures and going to a new place to learn and grow in creative ways! I want to help make experiences and memories that will last them through teaching my students about our solar system! In my room, we have a theme each week that we dive into and grow our understandings in and the kids love to pretend they are construction workers, bear hunters, and safari explorers. Now we want to be astronauts!
These materials will help transform our classroom so that each day during our space theme, it will feel like we are astronauts exploring the solar system!
Specifically, the space tent, glow in the dark lights, stars projector, and hanging stars and planets will help create the atmosphere that will shape our room for a week of impactful learning! The dress up astronaut costumes would be used in our "home living" center that will be transformed into the "mother ship" during space week. I will put aluminum foil around our furniture to create the environment of a solar system in our classroom! I would love to use the art materials like glitter, acrylic paint, and glitter paper to create galaxy sensory bottles to create memories and crafts my students can take home and experience with their families! Fine motor activities like creating arts and crafts are so important at this age to gain valuable skills for writing and adaptive skills as well! The solar system displays will help us see close up how our planets look and we can practice and better understand the universe around us! The various books about space will be read throughout the week as reading is one of our favorite ways to learn!
