Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 100% of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is one of 5 low performing schools in our county. My students speak various languages. They are very diverse economically and academically. At the beginning of the school year, students are supposed to be reading and comprehending on a level E. My students will be on various levels. We will be building a small family that will work on loving and respecting one another. As always I will love each and every one​ of them and only want the best for them!

My Project

The couch will make a difference in my students learning because it will provide a comfortable yet practical place for students to enjoy various types of literature. It will make the reading center enticing and a place they will want to go. The bench will also provide additional seating and storage for our class warmer and invite and give opportunities for students to learn in ways that are more comfortable and provide collaboration in different ways. The seat​ covers will provide additional places for students to organize books, notebooks and other materials which aid in learning.
