My students need paint brushes, scissors, and basis art supplies to do more drawing, painting, and sketching, which will help creative thinking, broadening of their minds, and feeding of their souls.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 4th graders in a low socioeconomic status area. Our school has a population of students where 94.1% are socioeconomically disadvantaged and more than three-fourths of my students receive free or reduced lunch. In spite of their circumstances, they still come to school ready, enthusiastic, and yearning for new knowledge.
While many of my students lack resources at home, they strive to excel in the classroom.
It is not uncommon for my students to want to stay in during recess or after school to enhance their own learning. Our community rallies for and values education and is supportive of our school and our students.
My Project
Recent studies have shown that art helps kids develop on many fundamental skills. Art education helps stem creativity, improved academic performance, student confidence levels, visual-spatial awareness, and motor skills.
To support the whole development of my students, my classroom needs the basic art supplies to make these masterpieces possible.
Paint brushes, paint sticks, scissors, and aprons will allow my students to experience different mediums, and maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness at school. The storage containers will enable the art supplies to be quickly accessible to students, while sustaining an organized location for supplies to be stored away to transition back into the core subjects of language arts and math.
I have seen growth in my students in core academic areas, however, allowing their creative minds to flourish more through art will only help creating more development. Thank you for your support in my students education.
