Our school has amazing musicians! My students come from varied socioeconomic backgrounds and have a variety of emotional and behavioral needs. My classes work together to make sure each student feels included, loved and ready to achieve. I work hard to engage all kinds of learners through hands-on and authentic musical experiences. When our school merged with another, I lost my full-size classroom, but that hasn’t stopped us from filling our small space with beautiful sounds. Our classroom is small but our hearts for music are so big!
My Project
My students need books to broaden their knowledge of music! The books I selected help my students to learn and experience music of different cultures and genres. Many of my students are of low socio-economical status or from rural homes. They have never heard stories or examples of music from Jazz or Funk! I would love for them to be able to expand their musical palates.
An interesting book about music is a great way to "hook" my students into learning more!
We are constantly striving to improve our Reading ability as well! Giving my students a library of books to read and borrow would be so helpful!
