There's A Nook In Our Nook, The Reading Nook That Is . . .
My students need two E-Readers (Nooks) to help inspire them to read more, as they use technology to enhance their reading experience in our new classroom reading nook.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"There's a wocket in my pocket," wrote Dr. Seuss. Hopefully, there'll be a Nook in our nook! My students live in a rapidly changing technological world and I would like to be able to provide them with the miens to use it. These Nooks will help encourage them on their road to literary success.
My students are 7th & 8th graders in a Title 1 school in California.
Many of my students are English language learners and low level readers. Unfortunately, because they read at such a low level, they are discouraged from reading. This is a travesty, because if they do not read, they will not succeed.
My goal is to make reading come alive so that they will have that desire to read. I firmly believe that all great readers started with the desire and inspiration to do so. I would like to help spark that desire.
My Project
I am asking for a Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet with an accompanying Easel Cover, as well as a Barnes & Noble NOOK The Simple Touch Reader.
These Nooks will be an addition to our reading nook, an unused corner of the classroom that we are transforming for strictly reading. My students have been exposed to technology from an early age and most of them are familiar with iPods. Since the Nook is technology that they are able to relate to, I believe that reading on these Nooks will take my students' reading to a whole new level. Unfortunately, because of the price, many of them would not have an opportunity to use one if it weren't for you and your heartfelt donation.
Despite the challenges my students face when they leave our campus every day, I know that they want to learn.
When you get to know them and begin to understand what they are up against, you will want to give them the world. I believe that they deserve every opportunity that they can possibly get.
