Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class of fantastic kindergarten boys, (yes, all boys) are ready to learn! I have eighteen students many of which are English Language Learners (ELL) and most will be experiencing school for the first time. The school is an inner city charter school that is beautifully diverse and is a wonderful representation of our community.

These sweet kids are ready to learn, and having the right materials gets them one step closer to a brighter future.

As a kindergarten teacher trying to navigate teaching during a pandemic, I want to ensure that my students are getting the best education possible!

My Project

My classroom teaching style, and my students learning style, is very hands-on. With a classroom of only boys kinesthetic learning is the way to go! We use a lot of games and activities to help reinforce the lessons.

We have several games in our classroom but BINGO is a class favorite!

Currently we have an alphabet BINGO but it has been well-loved so it has seen better days. This project will help us receive several BINGO games that reinforce what we are learning in the classroom (alphabet, sight words, shapes, colors, etc.)
