Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Finding a JUST RIGHT book that you LOVE can help unlock a love for reading and my students strive to build a powerful reading life. My students have a love for learning and are voracious readers seeking to discover and explore a whole new world in the books they read. My students are enthusiastic, inquisitive and book-lovers.
I strive for my classroom library to make students want to read, selling all readers- both avid consumers of books and those who have never picked up a book of choice- on the text it holds.
Studies also show a strong correlation between strong readers and series readers. These new books will help cultivate and strengthen a passion for reading.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance my students' growth as learners. One books is all it takes for a child to fall in love with reading. These books could have that effect on my students. I have chosen books that my students will love, of their interest and that meet the needs of all readers.
These books will be placed on the bookshelves and accessible to all students.
Having choice and access are crucial and a great indicator for their future reading life and these donations will be of great help. There is a great deal of variety from graphic novels, fiction, and biographies.
