This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember how proud you were when you first learned how to write, cut out a project, or tie your own shoes? For my kids, these tasks can seem incredibly difficult. Occupational Therapy helps them build the foundations they need to master these skills in order for them to succeed in school.
I provide support to students with disabilities perform their best in their academic environments, meaning anything from the classroom to the cafeteria or recess!
Many of my students have Autism, learning disabilities, or other developmental delays that make learning in a typical classroom difficult. Our school has both integrated NEST program classrooms as well as gifted and talented classrooms.
My Project
These supplies will help stock my new therapy room and create a classroom lending library of the materials my students need to reach their highest potential. Adaptive seating, such as the wobble cushions and the wobble chairs, help students who need movement stay focused in the classroom. The noise cancelling headphones will help students who are sensitive to auditory input focus on their independent work.
The therapy supplies requested are essential in helping my students learn and grow!
My new therapy room needs a lot of help so that it can be the most beneficial for the 2018-2019 school year!
