Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my classroom, I have a group of diverse learners who come from many different countries around the world. Each and every day, there are individual stories of success, determination and perseverance. My students have many questions about the world, and I am lucky enough to guide them to the correct answers.
My students have a range of social and emotional behavioral differences as well as learning differences.
My goal for my class is to empower my students to take ownership of their education as well as give them the tools that they will need in order to become successful adults.
My Project
The rug, chair and sensory fidget items I have picked out for our classroom will benefit my students in many ways. The stress balls, sensory foam and timers are for a sensory break corner I'd like to set up in the back of our classroom.
These objects will help many of my students calm down, get back on track or just simply help them take a successful break.
Students can sit and relax in the chair or on the rug as well! After their time in the space, they should be willingly ready to learn. This is setting our classroom up for success!
