Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Being a kid in school these days can be tough. Every single one of my students learns a little differently from another and reacts differently as well. I work in a low income/ high poverty area so my students are faced with different challenges.
My students are amazing, smart, and very talented.
Even though they have struggles at home they always come to school with a big smile on their face and they are willing to learn. I want to give them all that I can so they can be successful in school.
My Project
My students are expected to know certain reading and writing concepts on their state test. One of the best ways for me to teach my students is through picture books.
My students are engaged when they are either reading or being read to from picture books.
I will use these books in the classroom as a read aloud to enforce certain reading or writing concepts. I want my students to be engaged as we read and one of the best ways to do that is through a picture book. I will also use these books to discuss life lessons and how we can become better citizens.
